Not Invented Here is mostly found in corporate life and manifests in stubbornness to disregard opportunities if they have emerged from contexts outside of our own. It can be extremely common to hold a strong bias against ideas from the outside.

One useful counter-measure is to ask yourself: If it were to be proven that an externally invented idea would be highly beneficial to me, how would I adjust my thinking to enable that external idea to be used?
